Cultivate Joy
Approaching Castle Mountain from the Bow Valley Parkway may not be the quickest way to see the iconic peak, but it’s a favourite and offers a breathtaking perspective. During the warmer months, the "Bow Valley Parkway Car-Free Zone" initiative allows visitors to cycle from Banff to Johnston Canyon along the closed road, offering a safer and more enjoyable experience to appreciate Banff National Park's natural beauty at a slower pace. It’s such a highly rated experience locals will return several times a year.
I created this drawing to capture the joy of simple moments, like cycling on an open road with the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin on a perfect summer day. Just when you think it can't get any better, you come upon this incredible view of Castle Mountain rising before you—the cherry on top.
