Gigi began the madness that is the Aussie Icon collection. Drunk on her vibrant pink hues and cheeky personality, I just had to try to capture it in pencil. That beauty, that character, I wanted to magnify it for the whole world to see. So I decided to draw her in a larger-than-life portrait.

Drawing Gigi
I drew Gigi over the course of five days, and honestly, I was surprised at how quickly she came to life. From the start, I was transfixed—the whole process was exciting. Her eye and beak were fascinating to draw, and when I added the white highlights, it felt like I was literally layering feathers in 3D. The pink made me feel energized, and the white and grey were soothing. I was in love with her from beginning to end. Can you tell?
