Grassi Lake
Rewards of perseverance and self-belief.
Grassi Lake is considered one of the best trails located just outside the town of Canmore. It is a hidden gem worth the short, steep hike uphill. At the top, you'll find stunning views of the crystal-clear Grassi Lake Beach, one of two aquamarine lakes, and glimpse the Silver-Surge Tower and Ha Ling Peak above. The lake is surrounded by forest and trails with rustic benches to rest and soak in the serenity and vivid colours of the pools.
I created this drawing at a pivotal point in my life. I had started on a journey to rehabilitate my wrist after a near career-ending injury, not knowing where it would lead. Grassi Lake inspired me because it mirrored my experience. Just like hiking through the dense forest to reach its beautiful shores, it reminded me of the rewards of perseverance and self-belief.
When you look at my drawing of Grassi Lake, I hope it inspires you to keep going, believe in yourself, and remember that beyond challenges lies a world of beauty and fulfillment beyond your wildest dreams.
“Grassi Lake” is the second drawing in my exclusive “Finding Myself in the Canadian Rockies” limited edition print collection. Each piece uniquely reflects my personal journey and connection with the Rockies. To learn more, read the collection story here. To continue following my journey, check out “Johnston Canyon” next or head backward to “Mistaya Canyon.”
