Falling for ‘right now’.

This iconic viewpoint of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is located across the river from the Surprise Corner lookout. This picturesque setting has so many layers of beauty, including the iconic 1888 chateau, the Rimrock Resort, Banff Gondola, Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station, and the powerful Bow River below, all nestled amidst the stunning backdrop of Sulphur Mountain. Creating a romantic combination of natural splendour and architectural magnificence, fashioning an unforgettable and enchanting scene. It leaves little doubt as to why visitors flock from every corner of the world to see it all year round.

I created this drawing during the third Fall of my arduous journey to rehabilitate my wrist and change my life. Looking at this view, particularly at this time of year, reminded me that it’s good to stop and appreciate the change in your life and allow yourself to fall in love with who you are and what your life looks like right now. It’s more than acceptance; it’s gratitude for the life you’re building for yourself and the changes you’ve made, just like the iconic Banff Springs castle standing proudly in front of the grand Rockies swathed in a blanket of colourful changing leaves.

My hope is that this drawing of Banff Springs will inspire you to take a moment to pause while you’re working towards a goal or making changes to your life and encourage you to appreciate who you already are and the beautiful new layers you’ve implemented. Be inspired that self-love fosters self-respect, paving the way for a brilliant colourful life filled with beauty, confidence, and authenticity.
