Grassi Lake

The power of perseverance and self-belief.

Grassi Lakes is considered one of the best trails located just outside the town of Canmore. It is a hidden gem that’s worth the short, steep hike uphill. Once you reach the top, you'll be treated to this stunning view of Grassi Lake Beach, one of two crystal-clear aquamarine lakes. The lake is surrounded by a forested area and a trail with benches to rest and enjoy the vivid colours and serenity. You can also glimpse the silver surge tower and Ha Ling Peak towering above.

I created this drawing during a period in my life when I had started on a journey, not knowing where it would lead, but determined to believe in myself and take it one step at a time. I was inspired by how Grassi Lake serendipitously mirrored this experience; just like hiking through the dense forest to reach the breathtaking beauty of Grassi Lake, it encouraged me to keep going and served as a reminder of the rewards that come from perseverance and self-belief.

My hope is that when you look at Grassi Lake on your wall, you’ll be inspired to keep going, to believe in yourself, and to remember that beyond the challenges is a world of beauty and fulfillment beyond your wildest dreams.
